R: Piña es un rapero sudcaliforniano muy influenciado por la contrastante geografía de su tierra. Sus letras son, a la vez, un ejercicio de introspección y de experimentación con metáforas y métricas.
P: ¿Cuál es la visión de tu proyecto musical?
R: Sé que es imposible reinventar el hip-hop si lo pensamos desde lo más fundamental: rimas y ritmos. Pero con este proyecto intento crear un rap más universal; mensajes que puedan parecerle interesantes a una señora de 65 años o a un adolescente de 15. Quiero ser reconocido como uno de los mejores rimadores del país y, por qué no, de Latinoamérica.
R: El miedo que le tengo a triunfar fue la principal inspiración para escribir “Desertor”. Me asusta la idea de dejar de ser yo mismo si en algún punto de mi vida se me empieza a reconocer más; si llegan el dinero o la fama (aunque sea en niveles bajos) derivados de mi música, temo que sea demasiado para mi ego. Por otro lado sé que tengo el talento y el potencial para llegar muy lejos, y sí me gustaría hacerlo… por eso el conflicto que describo en la canción.
R: Actualmente estoy trabajando en 2 sencillos con mi equipo de producción, Prōcessō Records, que idealmente verán la luz entre marzo y abril. También hay bastantes letras en mis cajones a las cuales me gustaría darles orden y estructura para sacar un disco este año. Quiero que mi primer proyecto grande sea una declaración, de muy alta calidad, de que soy un rapero único en la escena.
