Logic
Se despide Logic del rap. Al menos momentáneamente pensamos, este hombre ama demasiado esto como para dejarlo ir para siempre. Su nuevo álbum “No Pressure” llega con poca promoción pero con una promesa grande, su despedida del juego. Nadie va a negar que Logic tiene una base de seguidores leales al rededor del mundo y que durante muchos años ha logrado ser uno de los actos más comercialmente exitosos dentro del género, sin embargo a lo largo de su carrera definitivamente no ha gozado de la aclamación de los críticos ni del gremio musical que conforman su mundo. Gran parte de esto tiene que ver con que constantemente nos ha entregado líneas que dan ñañaras, conceptos reciclados de Kendrick Lamar u alguien más y han sido suficientes las entregas mediocres como para opacar sus verdaderos buenos momentos.
Logic sabe esto, constantemente en sus raps la temática de no ser valorado lo suficiente ha sale al tema y aunque logre montar a todos los miembros del Wu-Tang Clan en una canción o tener colaboraciones con Eminem y J. Cole, se le ha negado un espacio en el rango superior de artistas donde siente que pertenece. Objetivamente tiene todos los méritos para estar ahí pero son algunas de sus decisiones artísticas lo que lo han restringido de poder entrar a la élite de los más venerados raperos de nuestros tiempos.
Aún así gracias a su carisma y elocuencia ha logrado formar una de las bases de fans más leales en reciente historia y hay que reconocerle que ha tenido una carrera formidable en su trayecto. Es asi como llegamos a “No Pressure”, su nuevo álbum producido por No I.D. y en nuestra opinión su mejor trabajo al momento.
Su reunión desde “Under Pressure” hace este cierre completamente poético, terminando el show con una reverencia a sus fans, seguramente entre aplausos. Este disco nos recuerda a la promesa de Logic con ese primer álbum, cumpliendo lo que debió haber sido y no lo que fue. “No Pressure” no tiene sencillos obvios, los puns son reducidos al mínimo y todo fluye en son de Bobby poniendo su mejor pie en frente haciendo sus características piruetas líricas frente a la excelente producción de No I.D.
Fuera de que el título hace referencia a la continuación de “Under Pressure” también hace referencia a un estado mental durante este proyecto: No hay feats forzados, no hay intentos desesperados de un sencillo crossover, no hay canciones donde claramente hay un propósito de cumplir con un momento “obligado”, solamente Logic y No I.D. haciendo música cohesiva, que representa la mejor versión de Bobby. Escuchando este proyecto nos deja reflexivos en pensar en lo duro que ha sido el gremio con él durante estos años y aunque mucho ha sido merecido, este proyecto nos recuerda de lo que es capaz y de porque el público se enamoró de él en primera instancia.
“Maybe If I go platinum they’ll remember me then” decía en el intro de “Under Pressure” allá por el 2014 y seguramente muchos lo recordarán por todas sus canciones y discos que procedieron a vender miles y millones de copias, en nuestro caso nos gustaría recordarlo como la persona que hizo este álbum. Un verdadero virtuoso del rap, amante de la música a la muerte tratando de ser la mejor versión de sí mismo, no siempre lográndolo, pero siempre intentándolo.
