Mucha Miel
Melisa Padilla está detrás de la identidad visual de algunos de tus proyectos favoritos, la originaria de Culiacán, Sinaloa actualmente trabaja en Homegrown Mafia como artista visual haciendo portadas, flyers, dirección de arte, foto, edición de vídeo, playeras, animación, visuales, y cualquier solución visual. Melissa también realiza trabajo como freelancer para sus trabajos personales de ilustración.
Mucha Miel es el nombre que ha adoptado para darle sello a sus obras, las cuales se han encargado de comunicar algunos de los proyectos más relevantes en la escena musical mexicana del último par de años, algunos de ellos como distintos proyectos de Alemán, La Plebada y el más reciente álbum de Natanael Cano “Trap Tumbado”.
En BORN MX, llevamos tiempo siguiendo el trabajo de Mucha Miel y creemos su trabajo es parte fundamental del éxito que han tenido los proyectos en los cuales se ha involucrado, así que nos acercamos con ella para que nos respondiera algunas preguntas:
¿Cuales son algunos de tus artworks favoritos?
He tenido un proceso de crecimiento en mi arte desde el ignorant style, con líneas sencillas y sin color, al cyberpunk con elementos futuristas y apocalípticos aplicados en el contexto mexicano, pero definitivamente mis favoritos son mis trabajos más nuevos con un estilo más realista y elaborado acompañados de un discurso que dice mucho mas de mi a nivel personal, al que me ha costado trabajo llegar. Estos son algunos de mis trabajos favoritos:

¿Cuál consideras ha sido tu trabajo más retador?
Definitivamente la portada de “Humo en la trampa 2” junto con la animación de Youtube y el video de “Los Duros” fue un reto grande desde que establecí la idea en mi cabeza, pero le fui fiel, fue un proceso largo y detallado pero en ningún momento abandoné mi visión y al final logré conseguir la imagen que traía en la cabeza. Fue un proceso tedioso pero muy gratificante y logré juntar muchos de mis conocimientos viejos y nuevos.
¿Cómo ha influenciado Culiacán tu visión artística?
Ahora más que nunca me siento obligada como artista a contar visualmente historias de la ciudad en la que crecí y las fuertes experiencias que me dio, siendo sincera cuando llegué a la Ciudad de México hace casi 4 años, fue cuando más exploto mi creatividad y mis ganas de dibujar todas estas experiencias que veía en la calle en esta grandísima ciudad, aquí se empezó a abrir mi ojo y mi sensibilidad artística más que nunca. Supongo que porque cuando uno crece en Culiacán no conoce otra cosa y está acostumbrado a la playita, los mariscos, la banda y las balaceras jaja, pero ya que me vine a la ciudad me di cuenta de lo única e inigualable que es Sinaloa y todas las experiencias que me dio, y actualmente intento contar esas historias en mis ilustraciones, ya sea transmitir el dolor de perder a un amigo a manos del narco, que un jueves normal por el centro se convierta en un Jueves Negro lleno de carros prendidos en fuego o historias de miedo en la carretera a Mazatlán. Supongo que lo he llevado al lado más trágico últimamente jaja, pero también planeo proyectar como son los días bonitos allá en el norte en mis siguientes dibujitos 🙂
5. ¿Que proyectos próximos tienes que nos pudieras compartir?
No puedo platicarles de algo en especifico pero, estamos planeando unas cosas con Alemán para el nuevo álbum Huracán.
