En el desierto de Sonora, lleva un tiempo cocinándose uno de los proyectos más interesantes de la nueva escena musical de México bajo el nombre de Norsay. Este sello de artistas, ha destacado por una ejecución musical y visual de alto nivel, elevando la vara para los proyectos do it yourself alrededor del país.
No solamente se han enfocado en la parte creativa, sino que han hecho esfuerzos admirables por buscar informarse acerca del panorama de la industria musical actual, creando campamentos y sesiones en dónde a través de pláticas y conferencias, se nutren acerca de lo que necesitan entender para sacar sus proyectos adelante.
Es normal ver talento que llama la atención y que posee potencial, pero ver talento que tiene organización, visión y cumple lo que se propone, es verdaderamente especial.
Hablamos con Thega Diaz, CEO y Director Creativo de Norsay, acerca del sello y visión para nuestro Radar BORN del mes de Abril.
Para alguien que no conoce a Norsay ¿Que es lo primero que debería de saber al respecto?
Norsay es un sello discográfico nacido en el desierto de Sonora, con el objetivo de impulsar, guiar y otorgar herramientas a la escena musical urbana sonorense.
¿Quiénes son los miembros de Norsay?
Norsay actualmente tiene un roster de 4 artistas, “Inzunza”, “Pimp Rulo” “Niño Chiquito” y “Ganggy”. Mientras que el equipo de trabajo está conformado por Thega Diaz (CEO, Director creativo), Daniel Barajas (Coordinador de eventos) , Sebastian Aguilar (Label Manager), Burro de Asada (Content) y Juanjo (Diseñador Gráfico)
¿Qué es el campamento Norsay?
Campamento de composición anual, realizado en Bahía de Kino. Se lleva a cabo en el transcurso de 5 días y se invitan tanto artistas propios de Norsay como productores e intérpretes de la escena urbana de sonora. En el último campamento realizado en marzo del 2022 se integró lo que fue el “Norsay MasterClass” el cual tuvo exponentes de Warner Music México, Ditto music y BORN MX dando un vistazo a cómo se maneja la industria de la música.
¿Cuáles son sus metas como sello?
En sonora es bien sabido que para buscar el pan en lo urbano, tienes que irte a una de las grandes ciudades como Gdl, MTY o CDMX. La meta de norsay, es poder generar una industria que permita a las siguientes generaciones de artistas urbanos poder quedarse en sus tierras. Actualmente hay una gran fuga de talento. Morros que tiene que dejar a su familia y amigos para buscar pegar. Norsay viene a reparar eso.
¿Cómo son y cómo nacen las fiestas de lanzamientos que hacen para el sello?
Las Norsay release parties son fiestas en donde celebramos los últimos lanzamientos de la disquera. Suele haber un lineup de 3 o 2 Dj´s sonorenses, “fitzers” gratis y mucho perreo. Suelen realizarse cada mes y medio sino es que dos.
¿Qué planes tienen para el resto del año?
En cuanto a lo musical, los artistas se encuentran en una etapa de desarrollo de proyectos más conceptuales. Unos están trabajando su EP, mientras que otros ya están pensando en un álbum. Estamos trabajando en poder hacer que los universitarios puedan realizar sus prácticas con Norsay. Y por último tenemos en mente comenzar con la planificación de un festival.
¿Qué hace especial a la escena musical de Hermosillo?
La comunidad. Al ser provincia, la comunidad de músicos urbanos en Hermosillo está enterada de todos los movimientos que hacen sus colegas. Todos se conocen y se siente en el aire un anhelo por el crecimiento.
¿Cómo describirían el desierto?
Como la tierra de oportunidades. Norsay viene a posicionarse como el oasis en este desierto.
